Advent and Christmas are two church seasons that feature several special services.
Hanging of the Greens – December 3, 10:45 AM
The anging of the Greens service forms the conclusion of the regular Sunday worship service. The service includes the blessing of the decorations, the hanging of the balcony wreath, and an explanation of one of the symbols of Advent. A light lunch will be served in the Memorial Fellowship Hall following the service. After lunch, please join us in decorating the church in anticipation of Christmas.
Christmas Program – December 10, 10:45 AM
This year’s Christmas Program takes the form of a cantata and forms the central part of the morning’s worship service. The children’s Sunday School classes join with adults to sing praise to the coming Christ. Following the service, refreshments will be served in the Memorial Fellowship Hall.
Christmas Eve – December 24
Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year. At 10:45 AM, we have our Sunday morning worship service for the fourth Sunday in Advent. In the evening, we have several worship options for Christmas Eve services.
- 5:00 PM – This Christmas Eve service with Holy Communion is held at a more family-friendly time than the later service.
- 6:15 PM – A quiet, low-key “Blue Christmas” service for those for whom the season is less joyous.
- 10:45 PM – Our Christ candlelight service with Holy Communion. The service concludes with the proclamation of Christ’s birth at 12:00 AM: Christmas Day.
Please join us in preparation for and in celebration of the birth of Jesus!
