Celebrate Christ’s birth with our “traditional” service lit primarily by candlelight with Holy Communion. Music begins at about 10:30 PM. The service concludes with the proclamation that Jesus is born and the ringing of the church bell.

Jesus is transformed upon a mountain and shines with bright rays of light, and Moses and Elijah appear next to him. This is the last Sunday before Lent. The Alleluia banner is processed out of the church at the end of the service to signify the more somber tone of Lent.

The service begins with a blessing and procession of the palms to mark Jesus entering Jerusalem. The service features a reading of The Passion, the story of the crucifixion.

The Wednesday Lenten journey concludes with Wednesday in Holy Week. With sin being a strong focus during the season of Lent, the last of the Wednesday evening services focuses on confession and forgiveness. The service is held in the sanctuary.

Service with a focus on the Last Supper and Holy Communion. The service concludes with the stripping of the altar – the altar area is cleared for Good Friday and Easter and is representative of the stripping and humiliation of Jesus.

Good Friday tenebrae service – a service of shadows and darkness. As the service goes on, the church gets progressively darker until all lights are extinguished, marking the death of Christ. This year’s service will be a joint service held at Salem Lutheran Church.
