The third major festival in the church year, Pentecost celebrates the Holy Spirit descending upon the Disciples. The day is typically not recognized outside the church; unlike Christmas (Santa Claus) and Easter (Easter bunny), Pentecost has no secular mascot for reinforcement. The service also features the Rite of Confirmation with a reception following in the Luther Room.
Trinity Sunday, or the Holy Trinity, celebrates God as the three-in-one, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is the only Sunday in the church year dedicated to God as a whole rather than Jesus or the Holy Spirit.
