This service has ancient roots. It awaits the great day of Easter, hinting at the day to come, but the fullness is not there. In its fullest form, the service is several hours long, starting in total darkness and moving into the light with 12 readings, the baptisms for the year, and a dawn procession around the cemetery moving into Easter communion.
Our service is adapted and shortened for our Saturday evening format. There are four sections to the service: Light, Readings, Baptismal Renewal, and Communion.
