The Women of the ELCA is a churchwide organization that includes all women of the congregation. It helps women grown in faith and in service to Jesus Christ and to each other. ELC’s Women of the ELCA meet monthly (September through June) at 7:00 PM in the Memorial Fellowship Hall for Bible study and discussion of contemporary issues relative to our Christian lives. Everyone is invited to participate.
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
WELCA Purpose Statement
Our congregational Women of the ELCA sponsors many activities each year at Evangelical Lutheran Church, including the altar guild schedule for care of the altar and for communion preparation, luncheons for funerals, an Easter craft project, organizing the annual church yard sale, the annual Thankoffering service (second Sunday in November), assembling school kits for Lutheran World Relief, participating in Celebration Day at Luther Ridge, and more.
To mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.
