ELC’s Preschool strives to provide a quality education in a nurturing environment, which will help each child’s social, emotional, and physical growth. Our main goal is to provide children with the skills they will need to succeed in that important first step into kindergarten.
Our program emphasizes self-confidence, ability to follow directions, and independence. Emphasis is also placed on the development of social skills such as self-control and cooperation. Through play, activities are used that encourage listening, recognition of letters of the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, and the use of large and small muscles.
The ELC Preschool is a one-year program. Children must be four years old on or before August 31 of the year of enrollment. Sessions are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from the beginning of September through the Thursday before Memorial Day.
The Evangelical Lutheran Preschool admits students of any race, color, religion, and national or ethnic origin. All staff and volunteers working with children have been screened and trained in accordance with ELC’s Child Protection Policy and Pennsylvania law.
